Manager Extraordinaire!
In 2011, after finishing our home in the Smoky Mountains, we experienced great anxiety about placing it on the vacation rental market. It was a brand new home and we were opening our doors to perfect strangers. We had never ventured down that path before. Our interview process involved at least 5 property managers before we elected to enlist Kathleen as our representative.
Unlike most of the rental managers, Kathleen has just a handful of cabins she oversees. The promise of personal attention and care was extremely appealing to us. We wanted to insure our investment wouldn’t be just another address in her logbook.
After some 3 years, choosing Kathleen to oversee scheduling of guests and insuring proper maintenance has exceeded our expectations. She manages our home as if it were her own. Her philosophy and ours are parallel, we both want to make each guest feel at home. As with any home, issues arise that require attention. Kathleen makes herself readily available for any problem that surfaces and responds as fast as we would, to insure our guests are inconvenienced as little as possible. Based on the feedback we have received from guests – either in the comments received or by our growing number of repeat guests, we know that we made and excellent choice in placing our property under her care
I closed on my cabin on Coopers Creek on 28 June 2013. After spending my first weekend up there 4th of July weekend, I decided to look into turning my property into a vacation rental. I googled property management in Bryson City and the first person I spoke with was Kathleen. We immediately hit it off. I also spoke with a couple of others, but none were as friendly, professional and positive as she was.
We set up a meeting in August for her to come and look at the property. She gave me a list and went over with me what I needed to do to make the property “rental” ready. She was always available to talk to me during the next 10 months when I had questions. We signed a contract in May of 2014. She had my cabin listed the middle of June of 2014 for July 2014 and it rented 23 days the first month.
I don’t have to worry about anything at my Cabin. Kathleen takes care of it all. Every cabin has a guest book and all of my guests always comment how Kathleen took care of anything they needed. If you’re looking for a property manager to manage your house in the Smokey Mountains, Kathleen Ford is property manager you need
